Rick Anderson's love of
nature and the outdoors dates back to his earliest childhood
memories. He attributes this love to his parents and both his
maternal and paternal grandparents. Whether it was a camping
trip with his parents and brother, a summer spent in West
Virginia with his maternal grandparents or the time the family
spent on the beautiful Outer Banks of North Carolina with his
paternal grandparents, the outdoors were always central in his
upbringing. I dedicate my photography to them because without
their time, patience and continual guidance it is hard to
imagine where I would be today.
Rick Anderson
was raised in Chesapeake, Virginia which is in the Tidewater
Region of Southeastern Virginia. To this day I attribute my love
of the outdoors to where I was raised. For anyone not familiar
with Southeastern Virginia, imagine living an hours drive from
the beautiful beaches of Virginia Beach and the Outer Banks of
North Carolina, an hour from Williamsburg, Jamestown, and
Yorktown, which all played such a vital role in the founding of
our great Republic, four hours from Washington D.C. and five
hours from the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains. It is easy to see
why anyone who loves the outdoors would consider this a great
place to be raised.
I began taking an interest in
photography as a teenager to document the many family outings.
Over time my hobby has become a passion as I rarely leave home
without my camera bag over my shoulder. Today, I reside in South
Mills, North Carolina with my wife and two children. If it were
not for their devoted love and patience on the days I leave home
hours before sunrise only to return hours after sunset, nothing
I do would be possible. If I can
answer any questions please feel free to
contact me.
